Waltham Forest Mela 2017

Waltham Forest’s much loved Mela is a day where families and communities come together to celebrate religious, cultural and artistic entertainment – around 12,000 people attend each year.

This year Mehraj Art was invited by Waltham Forest Council’s Event’s team to join discussions on  furthering the much loved Mela to be an exiting cultural legacy, not only within Waltham Forest but hopefully farther a field.

The creative conversations led us to develop the Mela to a much more wider audience and to involve the great creative community within the borough. While effusing the newer ideas with the current traditional cultural heritage of the Mela, such as the much popular Asian Kabaddi. Enabling us to further celebrate the religious, cultural and artistic community of Waltham Forest.
